Fundraising Friday- Library books

There are few things more entertaining then getting lost in the world of a book. No matter

the genre you prefer, getting entangled in the words woven by the author, taking you to new places and on superb adventures.  One of the items most asked for by the students to Amondi was for books. They asked her to send them books. All kinds of books, picture books, graphic novels, fun books, educational books.. Just books. 

Books can open up a whole new world for its reader, taking you to the highest peak of the pyramids down to the deepest sewers to hang with the Ninja Turtles. Books offer an escape  from reality, even if it is for a short time. Books can expand your mind and education. The vocabulary advances of children that routinely read is phenomenal.  Books help with comprehension and reasoning, skills valuable later in life. 

So part of the Fundraising Friday focus this week is on our Library Building Fund. The fund will not only create the physical building, but will also help to stock it with library books from educational to fantasy and fun. 

Reading is a passion of mine that I am so glad to have passed onto my kids. Even as adults, several of them continue to read incessantly. Amondi’s Avengers would like to give that same gift of reading and escape and adventure to these students as well. Adding readily accessible books can expand the opportunities of these students later in life as they choose career paths.
