Happy Friday! This Fundraising Friday is going to focus on our uniform donations. The students at MPIS all wear uniforms that must be provided by the family. Most of these families can barely cover the cost of the school fees ( which is less than $20USD a whole calendar year) let alone supplies and uniforms.

When Amondi was there, she saw first hand the condition of some of the uniforms. Kids wearing two left shoes, shoes with no laces, uniforms worn for several consecutive days in the Kenyan heat.  When we were talking about the creation of Amondi’s Avengers, we started small. I suggested we try to get everyone shoelaces. Then they can at least keep their shoes on their feet and we can get them anywhere. But then that quickly grew to more uniform pieces. If they have shoes with laces, they need socks. If they have socks they need slacks/skirts.. You can see how this snowballed.. quick.

Now unfortunately there is little bargaining that can be done on price as these items have to be purchased in Kenya so everyone is the same. However we have worked out a few deals with local merchants to be able to order items in bulk at a slightly discounted price. ( who doesn’t love a bulk deal?!?) This will let our dollar go farther in the purchasing world and will help support the local economy and business, helping to feed and support extra families in the process! Its a win- win-win for everyone!

So our goal with raising this pot of money is to be able to provide proper uniforms for the students who can not afford them. And to make sure students have enough to keep clean and comfortable when they come to school.

So please consider helping to support the uniform acquisition for these deserving students.
