Why do we need a Library?

Because, well they asked! While Amondi was in Mbita, one of the things the children asked for the most was for her to send them books! Books on any subject. Fun books, adventure books, educational books.. just BOOKS!

Can you imagine classrooms filled to the brim, students sharing chairs and desks, and a small supply closet used as a makeshift library? MPIS has been trying to save money to build a library that can hold their extra supplies, books, and provide a more interactive learning space for students. Adding more classroom space and increasing their learning center space, will make it easier to accommodate all of the students.

This library would greatly improve the lives of students and community members alike who would be able to utilize the space. It would allow students to expand their connection to distance education with a proposed computer lab and help bring their education system into the present day.Your donations will bless these children that are so eager to learn and read, the wondrous feeling we had a children, getting lost in a books entrancing stories and adventures.

Community members can access educational opportunities, resources and classes to help improve their ability to increase their income and contribute to their community. Any improvement to the education of the rural occupants, especially the woman who are dis-proportionally disadvantaged and under educated than their male counterparts, will help improve not only the economic situation of a family, but will also help to decrease their food insecurity.
